Jacob Hamblin Memorial
Jacob Hamblin Legacy Campaign

The Jacob Hamblin Family Organization (The Jacob Hamblin Legacy Organization Inc) and the Kanab Memorial Committee seek to erect a memorial and monument of Jacob Hamblin in Kanab Utah for the purpose of recognizing the tremendous example of kindness, peace, and missionary work.  Jacob Hamblin was a true American hero.  Having his story told and remembered sets an example to future generations.  Jacob's peaceable ways of solving conflict in the face of adversity and challenges should be memorialized.  Please help us make this happen and consider a gift today.

What others are saying:

"I firmly believe that this effort to recognize [Jacob Hamblin's] contributions and sacrifices in the settling of the Southwest is inspired and supposed to happen.  This man's contributions have been neglected far too long.  By recognizing them, his work and mission will expand and extend into future generations."

"After years of research on Jacob Hamblin and a biography of his life, I would recommend more be done to recognize his decades of missionary service to the [LDS] Church in southern Utah, northern Arizona and western Nevada.  At risk of his life, Hamblin sought to bring the restored gospel and Book of Mormon to the many Native American tribes throughout the Southwest.  At President Brigham young's request, he assisted the Maj. John W. Powell expedition in exploring the Southwest, eliciting much praise from Powell across the continent in so doing.  It would be fitting now to recognize [Jacob Hamblin's] labors."
